From 6th to 8th May, the elegant skyline of Mumbai meets the time-honoured traditions of Savile Row, as Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai welcomes Robert Bailey—one of Britain’s most respected bespoke tailors—for an exclusive, by-appointment-only trunk show, with first access reserved for members of Modernist, the hotel’s private member’s club.

A fourth-generation tailor with over four decades of experience “on the boards,” Robert Bailey is a name that resonates deeply with connoisseurs of craftsmanship. With a storied career that began in 1985 at Gieves & Hawkes under the guidance of his father, Bailey’s rise through the tailoring ranks has been nothing short of remarkable. From cutting uniforms for Sandhurst Military College to becoming Senior Cutter at Huntsman, his legacy is stitched into the very fabric of Savile Row.

Over the years, Robert has become renowned for bringing the charm and precision of Mayfair tailoring directly to his global clientele—via impeccably executed trunk shows across Asia’s most stylish capitals. Now, for the first time, Mumbai joins that illustrious circuit.

Clients will be treated to a deeply personal experience, beginning with a one-on-one consultation to discuss style preferences, climates, and lifestyle needs. With over 3,000 of the world’s finest cloths from mills like Dormeuil, Scabal, Holland & Sherry, Loro Piana, and Johnstons of Elgin, the selection is nothing short of sartorial poetry.

Every garment is cut by Robert himself, measured with surgical precision (over 35 unique measurements), and hand-stitched in London by a team of master tailors who uphold the highest standards of the craft.
