September Debut: Sheraton Grand Pune Unveils KMCY, a Celebration of Sichuan Flavours

This September, the tastes we’ve cherished for generations take center stage once more, reimagined with artistry and finesse, as a new culinary destination opens its doors. KMCY, the newest opening at Sheraton Grand Pune Bund Garden Hotel, invites guests to experience Sichuan’s bold flavours through a lens of refinement and culinary artistry. Its very name,  an acronym for Kao, Men, Chao, Yen,  is a manifesto in itself, drawn from the four elemental techniques of Sichuan cuisine: roasting, braising, stir-frying, and steaming. Each embodies more than method; they represent balance, ritual, and the duality of intensity and subtlety that defines Sichuan’s cultural rhythm.

The interiors speak in the language of balance and depth, echoing the soul of Sichuan cuisine. Deep green and teal seating rests against soft neutral walls and rich wooden floors, grounded by dark stone accents. Pendant lights, shaped like globes and umbrellas, recall traditional lanterns and cast sculptural shadows, while black lattice partitions mark rhythm and privacy. Circular wall installations in blue and gold, drawn from temple architecture, embody ritual and precision, inviting guests into a space as layered and deliberate as the cuisine itself.

Highlights on the menu include Pixian Doubanjiang Lamb Racks, richly spiced and tender; Mala BBQ Tiger Prawns, smoky with a gentle warmth; and Honey-Glazed Garlic Pepper Salmon, where sweet honey balances the subtle heat of Sichuan pepper. Vegetarian offerings such as the Truffle Wild Mushroom Bao and Chengdu Crispy Shitake showcase delicate textures and layered flavours. Desserts provide a refined conclusion, with the subtly spiced Sichuan Pepper Cheesecake and the lightly salted Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Tart rounding off the experience.
