A Month-Long Culinary Experience Dedicated to the Art of Duck in Chinese Cuisine

(New Delhi, February 2026)  This February, Shangri-La Eros New Delhi invites diners to immerse themselves in a Celebration of Duck at its signature restaurant, Shang Palace. This month-long culinary experience places duck, one of Chinese gastronomy’s most prized ingredients, at the heart of the table. Running from 1 to 28 February 2026, the showcase is a refined exploration of flavour, technique and tradition, brought to life within the restaurant’s elegant surrounds.

At Shangri-La Eros New Delhi, the legacy of Shang Palace evolves within expansive, understated interiors and private dining rooms designed for alluring, unhurried dining, an ideal backdrop for a culinary celebration that praises patience, precision and depth of flavour.

The Celebration of Duck is conceived as a focused tribute to the ingredient in its many expressions, showcasing time-honoured techniques alongside contemporary interpretations. Guests are invited to curate their own experience through a thoughtfully designed three-course duck journey, available on an à la carte basis, allowing each preparation to be appreciated for its individual character while contributing to a cohesive progression.

The experience opens with lighter, refreshing introductions such as Crispy Duck Salad with Pomelo and Micro Greens, where texture and brightness set the mood for what follows. The narrative deepens through an array of dim sums and appetisers, including Duck & Chestnut Dumpling, Crispy Duck Cheung Fun, and Barbeque Duck Puff, each recalling meticulous craftsmanship and a careful balance of richness. Bolder flavours emerge with Double Cooked Duck with Green Sichuan Pepper and Dry Red Chilli, offering warmth and complexity without overwhelming the palate.

The charm of the celebration lies in Shang Palace’s signature expression of duck, the iconic Three-Course Roasted Peking Duck. This classic unfolds with Crispy Duck Skin and Sliced Meat served with Pancakes, followed by a reimagined second course of Duck Cheung Fun with Mushroom & Chestnut, and concludes with a fine Duck Wonton Soup, allowing the ingredient to evolve across textures, temperatures and techniques.

The journey continues into the main courses, where duck is treated with patience and precision. Highlights include Six-Hour Braised Duck with Shaoxing Wine, Soya Sauce and Star Anise alongside Steamed Duck with Silken Tofu in Black Pepper Sauce, which showcases delicacy and balance. Contemporary interpretations such as E-Fu Noodles with Smoked Duck Breast and Duck Pot Rice with Egg and Edamame bring comfort, rounding off the experience with opulence.

Available daily for lunch and dinner, the Celebration of Duck is offered exclusively through an à la carte menu, allowing guests the freedom to tailor their experience.

This limited-time celebration invites guests to engage deeply with duck as an ingredient, one that demands respect, time and skill. Set within Shang Palace’s serene setting and complemented by the impeccable service synonymous with Shangri-La Eros New Delhi, the experience is a considered expression of culinary heritage, crafted for those who appreciate luxury in its most elegant form.
