(New Delhi, August 2025) This September, the ambience at Shangri-La Eros New Delhi will be laced with the aromas of Europe’s finest kitchens, as the hotel raises the curtain on an extraordinary celebration of European cuisine. One Michelin-starred Chef Karim Khouani, takes over Sorrento from 3 to 7 September 2025 showcasing contemporary European cuisine. With over 30 years in the industry, Karim now leads the team at Texture restaurant, Copenhagen with quiet passion - coaching, guiding, and cultivating a creative and supportive kitchen culture.
Over the course of five days, the capital will witness a rare union of artistry, heritage, and innovation, transforming dining into an unforgettable showcase of continental sophistication.
Acclaimed for its authenticity, Sorrento has been recognized with the prestigious Golden Q from Ospitalità Italiana and is admired for its artisanal pasta, Neapolitan classics, and soulful Italian cooking. With Chef Karim’s arrival, the restaurant presents Delhi’s gourmands with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to relish his signature creations.
Karim Khouani grew up in the sun-soaked city of Marseille, where early memories in his grandmother’s kitchen sparked a lifelong love of food. At Texture, his cooking is rooted in the French tradition - guided by the seasons, shaped by classic ingredients, and reimagined through a Nordic lens. Karim’s career has taken him through top kitchens in France and England, including under Marco Pierre White, before love brought him to Sweden. In Malmö, he opened Restaurant Ambience, earning a Michelin star in 2015, followed by Restaurant Sture, which received its star just three months after opening.
For this exclusive week-long pop-up at Sorrento, Chef Karim unveils an exclusive menu that illustrates his mastery. Guests can appreciate a bread serving with butter, followed by Canadian Lobster with Grapefruit and Carrots, Crab Salad, Tomato tart with Mustard and Tomato Sorbet.
The mains feature Fish Wellington, Chicken Ballotine with Truffle Sauce, Grilled Lobster with Emulsion of Cumin and Warm Heart Lettuce. Dessert offerings include Pistachio Soufflé with pistachio, Classic Tarte Tatin with Vanilla Ice-Cream. Each creation is designed to surpass expectations and immerse diners in a dining experience reminiscent of Europe’s most prominent tables.
