Kolkata, August 2025: The homecoming of Goddess Durga is best celebrated with tradition, nostalgia, and grand feasts every day. This year, YAYAvar at Hyatt Centric Ballygunge, Kolkata, is elevating the festive spirit with ‘Pujor Pothik’, a specially curated Maha Bhoj featuring Asian and Western delicacies alongside authentic Bengali cuisine, from 27th September to 2nd October. Besides, guests are also offered a cozy Staycation Package to make their festive days memorable. Designed to delight food enthusiasts, the experience reflects the cultural opulence and joyous spirit of Kolkata’s grandest festival.

The festivities begin on Panchami and continue till Dashami, with YAYAvar presenting an elaborate culinary journey. Guests can start with a diverse soup selection including Murgh Shorba, Khow Suey, Veg Minestrone, Paya Shorba, Roasted Garlic Chicken, and Veg Thukpa, paired with an assortment of condiments. Starters set the festive tone with favourites such as Bhetki Macher Chop, Tandoori Chicken Tikka, Hara Bhara Kebab, Chingrir Chop, Zaffrani Paneer Tikka, and Mangalore Chicken Kebab.

To elevate the celebration, the main course features a lavish spread of Bengali specialities including Kolkata-style Biryanis (Dim Aloo, Chicken, Mutton, Chingri), Basanti Pulao, Sona Moong Dal, Dhokar Kalia, Potol Posto, Macher Paturi, Kosha Mangsho, Rezala Mutton, Dak-Bungalow Chicken Curry, Laal Murgir Jhol, Doi Chingri, Chingri Macher Malai Curry, Bhapa Mach, Chanar Dalna, Labra, Cholar Dal, and the quintessential Aloo Jhuri Bhaja.

Adding variety, the Asian menu includes Kung Pao Chicken, Thai Red Curry, Massaman Veg Curry, Fish in Oyster Sauce, Thai Green Curry, Stir-Fried Vegetables with Chili Cilantro Sauce, and Mixed Seafood Fried Rice. The Western selection features indulgent dishes like Pulled Chicken Pie, Fish &

Mushroom Gratin, Quinoa-Stuffed Baked Pimentos, Eggplant Parmigiano, Jacket Potato with Sour Cream, Poached Fish, and Semolina-Crusted Fish with Puttanesca Sauce.

To keep the festive energy alive, live counters bring the charm of Kolkata’s streets indoors, with Phuchka, Jhal Muri, Chaat, Kathi Rolls, along with Bhaja, Pasta, and Egg counters, plus thematic stalls like Sera Baangaliyana and Dacres Lane. No Puja feast is complete without sweets, and the dessert spread includes Bengal’s favourites like Rasgulla, Mishti Doi, assorted Sandesh, Chanar Payesh, Kesariya Payesh, Gobindobhog Payesh, Kheer Kadam, Lyangcha, Pantua, Mihidana, Kacha Golla, and Cham Cham. Global indulgences such as Pannacotta, Tiramisu, Coffee Walnut Mousse, assorted Gateaux, Pastries, and Ice Creams round off the feast.
