New Delhi, 27th January, 2026: Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR presents a limited-period Contemporary English High Tea at The Promenade Lounge, its refined setting for unhurried afternoon indulgence. Curated by UK-based Pastry Chef Alla Smith, the experience reimagines the timeless ritual of English high tea through contemporary plating, seasonal sensibilities, and a calm, elevated ambience aligned with Taj Surajkund’s positioning as a destination for slow luxury and cultural exchange.
The Contemporary English High Tea started from 20th January 2026 and will be hosted at The Promenade Lounge for a limited period through 30th January 2026. Guests can look forward to freshly baked scones, handcrafted savouries, and delicate confections, thoughtfully paired to deliver an elegant afternoon experience rooted in craft and refinement.
This culinary-led showcase is presented as part of ‘World & Us: New Zealand Festival – India Chapter 2026’, organised by the CD Foundation in collaboration with the Whiria Collective NZ, Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, and New Zealand, and UK cultural partners. As a principal host venue for a series of diplomatic, cultural, and culinary engagements, Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR offers a distinctive platform where global traditions meet contemporary hospitality.
Commenting on the initiative, Chef Anuj Mathur, Executive Chef, Taj Surajkund Resort & Spa, Delhi NCR, said, “At Taj Surajkund, our culinary philosophy is anchored in offering guests experiences that go beyond the plate, where cuisine becomes a window into culture and craftsmanship. Through this curated experience, we bring a globally cherished ritual to our patrons in a manner that feels authentic, considered, and relevant today, while staying true to Taj’s hallmark of thoughtful hospitality. This Contemporary English High Tea reflects that broader intent, inviting guests to engage with a classic ritual through a refined lens.”
Alongside the high tea experience, this festival extends to a diplomatic inauguration titled ‘Coffee Morning with New Zealand’, an international chef collaboration between Indian and New Zealand chefs featuring a Māori cuisine showcase, and a two-day British High Tea pop-up on 21 and 22 January 2026.
With this activation, Taj Surajkund reinforces a broader narrative of modern luxury hospitality, where hotels evolve beyond stay experiences to become platforms for culinary storytelling, cultural discovery, and global dialogue.
