This September, Bengaluru Marriott Hotel Whitefield invites you to mark the harvest festival of Onam with splendour at Sante. Across two days, the hotel will host a seated traditional Sadhya where the grandeur of Kerala’s culinary heritage meets the warmth of festive celebration.

Served on banana leaves in Chaumukh style, the vegetarian spread is presented with grace by servers in traditional attire.

The feast begins with Thodu Karikal crisp banana chips, jaggery-coated Sarkara Varatti, fried yam and bitter gourd, fiery Mulagu Kondattam, and tangy pickles of mango and lemon. From there, the Sadhya deepens into festive staples: Pachadi of beetroot and yogurt, cucumber kichadi, sweet madhura curry of banana, pineapple and grapes, hearty Koottu curry, coconut-rich Olan, earthy kalan of raw banana and yam, red pumpkin Erusseri, stir-fried kaya Mezhukkuparatti, Cabbage Thoran, and the much-loved Avial.

Kerala red rice anchors the spread, paired with ghee-laced Parippu, robust Sambar, tangy Mambazha Pulisseri, comforting rasam, and cooling Pachamoru. The celebration finds its crescendo in the richness of Parippu Pradhaman and Palada Payasam, sweet signatures of an Onam meal.
Guests are welcomed with a floral Pookkalam at the entrance, where the rhythmic beats of Chenda Melam draw guests into the spirit of Onam. Just as the drums rise, the vibrant Pulikali, tiger dance, bursts onto the scene, filling the space with energy. From there, the festivities unfold with an Onam special market, guided by a spirited Malayali MC and the warm presence of Maveli. Little ones will have their own dedicated play zone, for families and friends to gather in comfort. For those who wish to celebrate at home, a specially curated takeaway Sadhya will be available from 1st to 6th September, prepared with the same authenticity and festive spirit.
