- Sapphires, Symphony & Sheeran
Chennai, June 2025: Global music icon Ed Sheeran’s latest gem ‘Sapphire,’ was released earlier this week and has been making waves since then. The song features Ed’s journey through India during his tour and has vibrant visuals. The song also features Indian music maestro Arijit Singh and Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan. Parts of the song have been filmed at Chennai’s iconic ITC Grand Chola where Ed and his troupe stayed, leading up to the concert.
Ed is spotted donning the ITC Hotels’ chef hat which reads ‘Every Creation is a Masterpiece.’ The music legend tried his hand at tossing coin parathas at the award-winning Avartana which has been rated as India’s number 1 restaurant by Conde Nast Traveller and has twice featured in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant List. And it wasn’t just the food that made Ed’s stay memorable, he is also spotted enjoying a relaxing champi at the picturesque poolside terrace of ITC Grand Chola.
During his stay at the hotel, Ed Sheeran dined at Avartana on two occasions, where Chef Nikhil Nagpal and his team curated a 13-course journey featuring the ‘best of Avartana’ over the years. Some of his personal favourites were the triple-distilled Tomato Rasam, Steamed Seabass and an Instagram favourite, Fennel Pannacotta. ITC Grand Chola also catered for the sold-out concert at YMCA Ground, offering a mix of Indian and international dishes in bite-sized portions.
From the kitchens of Avartana, ITC Grand Chola to the chords of Sapphire, this moment of cultural harmony is a celebration of music, memory, and mindful hospitality. Link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DKkKHRszZd5/?igsh=cjB2cmI3c2hxdnB1
