In a groundbreaking effort to tackle food waste, Fairmont Jaipur has introduced Orbisk's state-of-the-art image-capturing technology, resulting in an impressive 30% reduction. Additionally, the hotel utilises a first-in, first-out inventory system to maximise ingredient usage and reduce spoilage. Additionally, an Organic Waste Converter (OWC) machine transforms biodegradable food waste into nutrient-rich manure, enriching the hotel's gardens and promoting a circular waste management approach.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to water conservation, Fairmont Jaipur has installed low-flow fixtures in guest rooms, leading to a 30% reduction in water usage. The hotel's Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) recycles 70% of wastewater, supporting rainwater harvesting and sustainable landscaping. By replacing water-intensive landscapes with native plants and incorporating sensor taps to minimize water wastage, the hotel ensures a minimal water footprint.
Fairmont Jaipur prioritizes energy efficiency through various innovative measures. Motion sensor lighting in public areas and restrooms optimizes energy use, while Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) in equipment and pumps enhance power efficiency. The hotel has transitioned entirely to LED lighting, reducing overall energy demand. A Building Management System (BMS) further optimizes HVAC operations, balancing guest comfort with sustainability.
Beyond environmental initiatives, Fairmont Jaipur is deeply committed to social responsibility. Through the 'Vocal for Local' initiative, the hotel actively supports local artisans, employing their craftsmanship in decor, souvenirs, and guest experiences.
This cultural stewardship is beautifully reflected in Sham-e-Khaas — a heartfelt celebration of Rajasthan’s artistic legacy. As the courtyard transforms into a vibrant stage, the performance by the local folk artists captivate guests with mesmerizing displays of music and dance. The evening ritual at the property highlighting soul-stirring call of surnai horns, the rhythmic pulse of nagadas, and the delicate chime of manjiras create an atmosphere that resonates with history and splendour. Beyond its captivating beauty, this ritual plays a vital role in empowering the region’s folk artists. Through dedicated skill development programmes, these performers are provided with meaningful career opportunities within the hospitality sector, safeguarding their crafts while offering sustainable livelihoods.
A cornerstone of Fairmont Jaipur's sustainability commitment is its Green Team—an in-house task force dedicated to implementing and overseeing environmental initiatives. This team has spearheaded the integration of renewable energy sources, ensuring net-zero energy usage during daylight hours and eliminating single-use plastics. The Green Team continuously works to source eco-friendly products and packaging while engaging employees and guests in sustainability education and participation.
"At Fairmont Jaipur, sustainability is at the core of our operations. Achieving the Green Globe certification is a testament to our ongoing efforts to implement environmentally responsible practices while delivering an unparalleled luxury experience. We remain dedicated to setting new benchmarks in sustainable hospitality," said Rajat Sethi, General Manager, Fairmont Jaipur.
Fairmont Jaipur's Green Globe certification marks the beginning of a continued journey towards sustainability. By integrating responsible practices into every aspect of its operations, the hotel aims to inspire guests, partners, and the industry to embrace a greener future.
