Mumbai, Jan 02: The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI recently held FSSAI’s Food Safety Supervisor Training in Advance Catering (FoSTaC) and Management Training Programme on December 23 at the Sofitel BKC in Mumbai. The training session, attended by 35 hospitality professionals, focused on crucial aspects such as food handling, hygiene, sanitation and waste management. Participants gained valuable, hands-on knowledge to implement robust food safety practices in their operations, thereby supporting industry standards.

The event was inaugurated by Prof Praveen Andrews - Trainer, along with Chef Vividh Madhusudan Patil and Ms Priyadarshani Swapnil Mule from Sofitel Mumbai BKC, as well as Ms Kiran M. Bagde and Mrs Harshida K Mankotia from Hotel Shrikamal International.

To date, HRAWI has trained and certified 3,243 hospitality professionals through its FoSTaC and Management Training Programmes. This milestone highlights the Association's ongoing dedication to enhancing food safety standards in the sector, ensuring that trained professionals are equipped to maintain stringent safety protocols in their daily responsibilities.

The Hotel And Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI is a 74 years old Association of Hotels and Restaurants in Western India. Its members include Restaurants and Hotels up to 5-Star Deluxe categories. With membership base spread across Western India, HRAWI covers Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa and Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and is considered to be the voice of the Hospitality Industry. The association is part of the national body of the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), located in New Delhi, which was originally founded in Mumbai in 1950 by the late Mr J.R.D. Tata.
