Hilton Jaipur is proud to announce its strategic partnership with Ecosheets, a collaboration designed to recycle plastic waste and transform it into valuable, sustainable products. This initiative extends Hilton’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, Travel with Purpose, which focuses on responsible travel and tourism to create positive environmental and social impacts.
Driving Positive Change with Travel with Purpose
At the core of Hilton’s global sustainability efforts is the Travel with Purpose strategy, which aims to drive transformative change in the travel and tourism sector. The partnership with Ecosheets underscores Hilton Jaipur’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and integrating sustainable practices into its operations. By partnering with Ecosheets, Hilton Jaipur reinforces its role as a leader in the hospitality industry, dedicated to making travel more sustainable.
Innovating with Upcycling: Best Out of Waste
In response to growing concerns about global warming, environmental threats, and the depletion of natural resources, Hilton Jaipur is adopting a forward-thinking approach by embracing upcycling. This initiative focuses on innovative recycling and utilization methods to transform waste into valuable resources.
Through this partnership, Hilton Jaipur will upcycle bulk amenities, plastic bottles, chemical dispensers, and scraps, converting them into usable products. Rather than simply recycling the plastics, Ecosheets upscales them into products or recycled plastic sheets that can be used to create furniture. Ecosheets specializes in producing plastic boards, pallets, films, and furniture from waste plastics. This innovative approach not only tackles the plastic waste problem but also provides a sustainable alternative to traditional materials like plywood, contributing to a greener planet.
Quantifying the Impact
Hilton Jaipur is deeply committed to reducing its plastic waste footprint, and this partnership marks a significant step towards achieving that goal. On average, Hilton Jaipur generates 170 kgs of plastic waste monthly from bathroom wet amenities dispensers, water bottles, and various plastic drums and containers.
These plastic waste materials are now being redirected to Ecosheets, where they are transformed into durable and useful products. This initiative exemplifies the concept of creating the "best out of waste," contributing to a circular economy and reducing environmental hazards.
A Commitment to Sustainability
“We are thrilled to partner with Ecosheets in the mission of turning waste into worth. This collaboration is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and our ongoing efforts to minimize our environmental impact,” said Rahul Bhagat, General Manager, Hilton Jaipur. “By working together, we aim to set an example for responsible business practices in the hospitality industry.”
Looking Ahead
As Hilton Jaipur continues to innovate and lead in sustainable practices, this partnership with Ecosheets is just one of many steps the hotel is taking to ensure a positive environmental impact. Hilton Jaipur remains steadfast in its dedication to exploring and implementing sustainable initiatives that contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for all.
