EarthCheck Certified Silver status recognizes that the hotel has benchmarked its environmental, social and economic performance against the globally recognized EarthCheck Certified Standard and has been independently audited to verify those results.

Hyatt Regency Chennai’s success is fueled by a focused initiative: the internal Green Team. This dedicated team meets monthly to rigorously assess and implement new prospects for enhancing the hotel's sustainability performance and resource efficiency.
These efforts align with Hyatt’s global approach, World of Care, to advancing care for the planet, people, and responsible business practices. The hotel has introduced several impactful initiatives, including:
● Large Format wet Amenities: Replacing single-use miniature plastic bottles of wet amenities with large format dispensers that can be refilled.
● Glass Water Bottles: Eliminating single use plastic bottles across guest rooms, restaurants, and meeting spaces and replacing them with glass water bottles from our in-house bottling plant.
● Eco-friendly stationery: Eco-conscious stationery like notepads with plant seeds as well as pens made with bamboo are used across the meeting spaces.
● The Good Doll Initiative: A community-support program where handmade dolls crafted by local women are placed in rooms to raise funds and awareness for their livelihoods.
● Robust Waste Management Program: Our wet waste is processed in an Organic Waste Converter and the residual compost is used to nourish the soil of the landscape and the Hotel garden.
● EV Vehicles: The hotel uses only EV cars as its guest fleet with charging stations provided on premises for our own fleet as well as guests with EV cars.
