AtTaj Mahal, New Delhi, which is proudlyLEED Platinum and EarthCheck Platinum certified, water conservation efforts have achieved remarkable success, with recycling efficiency increasing from53% to 80%this fiscal year and an impressive 98% of treated water now being reused. The hotel’s chemical-free water recyclingEffluent Treatment Plant (ETP)treats and recycles upto60,000 litersof laundry wastewater daily, significantly reducing its dependence on freshwater sources. Complementing this is the hotel’sin-house bottling plantthat replaces thousands of plastic bottles with elegant reusable glass alternatives. Additionally, the hotel's400 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant(STP)uses eco-friendly biological processes instead of chemicals, creating high-quality water for gardens and cooling systems. Beyond its walls, Taj Mahal, New Delhi is partnering withlocal NGOsto bring clean drinking water to underserved communities througheducational sessions and the installation of sustainable water purifiers.

With the finest equipment and most advanced technology, theWater Treatment and Bottling PlantatTaj Palace, New Delhiproduces the highest quality of drinking water through a three-step process of reverse osmosis, ozonation and UV technology. Water conservation measures extend throughout the property with altered aerators and sensor-based taps in public areas achieving80-85% water savings. The hotel’s advancedETPrecycles laundry water, conserving upto80 KL daily,while theupgraded STP withMBR technologytreats upto450 KLDof water which is used for cooling towers, horticulture and flashing purposes. To reduce energy and water usage, the hotel uses anindigenous condensate heat recovery systemthatrepurposes steam from the laundry for hot water generation. A700-meter dedicated pipelineensures treated water reaches landscaping areas outside the hotel property,maximizing the use of recycled water resources.
