Bengaluru, July 22, 2025: ITC Windsor marked a significant culinary milestone as Dakshin completed 25 years since it first opened its doors to the people of Bengaluru, bringing with it the rich, diverse cuisines of Southern India.

Originally conceptualised in 1989 in Chennai, Dakshin is a 36-year-old brand that has become a culinary institution, known for its authentic representation of South Indian cuisine across regions such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. Over the years, Dakshin has expanded its presence to several ITC Hotels across India, including Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, and Visakhapatnam — each offering the same signature experience steeped in culture, craft, and flavour.

At ITC Windsor, Dakshin has stood as a culinary landmark for a quarter of a century, offering guests an immersive experience rooted in tradition. The afternoon celebration was attended by loyal patrons, long-standing associates, and distinguished guests from the city’s hospitality and cultural circles. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a captivating Yakshagana performance — a tribute to Karnataka’s vibrant performing arts.

Guests were then treated to a specially curated lunch menu that reflected Dakshin’s rich culinary legacy. The experience was elevated with a live Carnatic music performance, adding a melodic backdrop as guests dined. The décor, inspired by the elegance of a traditional South Indian wedding, featured brass lamps, fresh jasmine, banana leaves, and intricate kolam artwork, lending the venue an atmosphere of timeless celebration.

She also announced a new chapter for the brand — the launch of Dakshin’s Outdoor Catering Service. ‘We’re excited to take Dakshin beyond our walls, allowing guests to make it a part of their weddings, festivals, and intimate gatherings,’ she added.

The celebration reaffirmed Dakshin’s legacy — flavourful, authentic, and ever-evolving.
