Gurgaon is home to one of the largest Japanese expatriate communities in India, making it a natural choice for introducing a Japanese-themed hospitality concept. Gurgaon also sees a high inflow of business travelers who look for sophisticated, comfortable, and culturally rich accommodation options. A Japanese-themed hotel aligns with the expectations of international business travelers who value design, hygiene, and efficient service.

" Several Japanese companies have already chosen this SUNDAY Hotel as their preferred accommodation partner for visiting employees from Japan. This new themed hospitality center is designed to cater specifically to their cultural preferences. We are collaborating with Japanese designers, incorporating traditional elements like tatami mats, minimalist interiors, and offering Japanese cuisine and hospitality practices, all within a modern Indian urban setting".

SUNDAY Hotel is also betting big on the growing trend of Japanese restaurants in metro cities such as Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. With more Indians traveling abroad and being exposed to global cuisines, there's a rising curiosity and appreciation for different food cultures—Japanese being one of the most refined and unique ones.

Anime, manga, J-dramas, and Japanese fashion have a massive fanbase in India now. Fans of shows like Naruto, One Piece, or Attack on Titan are naturally curious about ramen, sushi, mochi, and other Japanese foods they see their favorite characters eating. Additionally, with growing global awareness around healthy living, Japanese cuisine which is known for its use of fresh ingredients, minimal oil, and balanced flavors aligns perfectly with the preferences of today’s health-conscious travelers, making this initiative not just thoughtful but also strategically sound.
