Chennai, August 14th 2025 – This August, as Chennai marks its 386th birth anniversary, Radisson Blu Hotel & Suites GRT Chennai is bringing the city a celebration like no other. Honouring the spirit of Madras year after year, we extend the celebration beyond a single day to dedicating an entire month to the city’s culture, history, and timeless charm. The Madras Affair is our tribute to Chennai’s soul, blending heritage-inspired stays, unique culinary journeys, and cultural showcases that also spotlight Tamil Nadu’s rich heritage and culture.

Events That Celebrate a City

It starts with the Madras Heritage Quiz (14 Aug) with Nawabzada Mohammed Asif Ali hosting the Quiz themed ‘Old Madras’. The hotel is hosting a unique Heritage Art & Photo Exhibition (14–31 Aug) where we are showcasing the old madras images dating back to early 1900 which will be featured in the hotel lobby. The celebration continues with the Madras Ellai Saapadu (22 Aug) at Ministry of Chutneys, featuring heirloom recipes and cuisines of old madras.
