- The agreement between the Swiss resort and Italy’s leading hotel group aims to extend Starhotels’ international presence in the luxury resort & wellness segment
Florence (Italy), December 3rd 2025 - A new chapter of beauty unfolds for Starhotels Collezione, welcoming Collina d’Oro Resort & SPA into its portfolio. This refined five-star property nestled in a natural oasis just minutes from Lugano is a haven of charm where the slow rhythm of nature meets the art of exceptional hospitality.
With this addition – resulting from a commercial agreement – Starhotels further consolidates its presence in the international luxury market, choosing a destination that embodies tranquility, harmony, and breathtaking landscapes: an ideal retreat for those seeking a rejuvenating experience, far from the noise and pace of everyday life.
“We are delighted to bring Starhotels to Switzerland for the first time through this new commercial agreement,” says Elisabetta Fabri, Starhotels’ President and CEO. “This initiative enhances our expertise in high-end hospitality and confirms Starhotels’ role as a leading hub for excellence, attracting properties that seek a solid, skilled, and reliable partner for growth. It represents an opportunity for us to showcase our capabilities beyond the boundaries where we traditionally excel, leveraging the know-how we have developed over years of experience in both domestic and international markets.”
A true signature retreat, Collina d’Oro Resort spans over 25 hectares of natural park, among sun-kissed hills, dense woods, and a horizon embracing the Alps and the lake. Its mild, luminous microclimate once captivated Nobel Prize-winning author Hermann Hesse, who found inspiration here and spent his final years in this enchanting setting.
The property features 44 rooms, including 28 suites, all bathed in natural light streaming through large windows that harmonize with interiors of understated, sophisticated design. Completing the experience is a 1,000-square-meter SPA, a fitness area, and a restaurant celebrating Mediterranean cuisine with contemporary flair.
“I am particularly pleased to renew my collaboration with Elisabetta Fabri, whom I have known and admired for many years, and with the entire Starhotels Group, an Italian excellence that has turned quality, style, and hospitality into a true cultural heritage,” says Marcello Forti, CEO of H-Food, the company behind HCH SA, which manages Collina d’Oro Resort. “With H-Food, we share deep values: attention to detail, respect for tradition, focus on innovation, and a genuine passion for the guest experience. We are confident that this partnership will enhance the allure of an iconic property in a unique location like Lugano, creating a contemporary luxury project that combines expertise, heritage, and new international perspectives.”
Under the agreement, Starhotels will support the resort in sales and promotional activities, marketing and communication, revenue management strategies, and will integrate its booking system and the I AM STAR loyalty program.
The resort will maintain its identity and operational autonomy, fully aligned with the standards of the Starhotels Collezione brand.
The partnership has already been formalized: as of November 22, Collina d’Oro Resort & SPA officially joined the Starhotels Collezione world, enriching the brand with a new destination devoted to wellness, nature, and the art of fine living.
