Vadodara, Gujarat, 17th November 2023: Hyatt Place Vadodara, the first Hyatt Place in Gujarat, is presenting a 10-day Punjabi food festival, ‘Sweety Da Pind’. Hosted in association with Celebrity Chef Sweety Singh from Delhi, this festival marks the culinary expert’s first collaboration in the city of Vadodara.
Sweety Da Pind promises authenticity in its truest sense to our guests this winter – Punjabi specialty dishes crafted by Chef Sweety Singh using his slow cooking technique in tandem with his mix of freshly ground spices from Delhi and water shipped in all the way from Amritsar. The food festival menu features some of his signature dishes, which cater to vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, such as Lal Mirch ka Tandoori Kukkad, Bharwan Khumb, Kukkad Makhan Wala, Pindi Chole, Amritsar Kulcha, Kesar Badam Wali Kheer, and Kale Gulab Jamun.
Celebrity Chef Sweety Singh is well renowned for his prowess in old, forgotten Punjabi food across India and the Middle East. He takes after his father, from whom he gets his love and passion for cooking. Popularly known as the ‘Master of Spices’, he does not use any cashews, almonds, saffron, or food colour in his preparation. Having been in this industry for over 30 years, he has collaborated with top tier hotels and even cooked for sports personalities such as Sachin Tendulkar to serve Punjab’s robust flavours in the manner that they were originally intended – fragrant, healthy, and wholesome.
“We at Hyatt Place Vadodara always strive to provide our guests with unique dining experiences in order to further strengthen our patronage. That being said, we extend a very warm welcome to Chef Sweety Singh at Hyatt Place Vadodara! ‘Sweety Da Pind’ is a landmark food festival for us as it introduces the people of Vadodara to his vibrant flavours and one-of-a-kind Punjabi preparations for the very first time.”
Neha Kapoor, General Manager, Hyatt Place Vadodara
“The people of Gujarat by themselves have a rich culinary heritage that is deep-rooted in their past. It will be challenging and exciting to showcase my culture and passion for Punjabi food to this city and provide them with nothing short of an immersive dining experience. Together with the culinary team at Hyatt Place Vadodara, ‘Sweety Da Pind’ will help redefine the Punjabi food experience – slow-cooked, wholesome, and made with real ghee.”
