I.G.B.C. Green Existing Building Certification achieved by Aurika, Udaipur

24/08/2022

August 24th, 2022: Aurika, Udaipur – Luxury by Lemon Tree Hotels, received the Gold Certification by the Indian Green Building Council (I.G.B.C.). The resort has been designed based on I.G.B.C. standards, which bring together a host of sustainable practices and solutions to reduce the environmental impact of buildings. From the time of construction, there has been a focus on energy saving and water conservation, and the resort has been built on a hill using Hill Stabilisation, a Canadian enviro-friendly green technology that protects the slope on all sides without disturbing the natural environment. Further, there is a food waste management protocol in place, which uses organic waste convertor that converts waste into compost.

“We are honoured and delighted to be the recipients of this prestigious award and it reinforces our focus on ESG even more. This is our seventh hotel to receive the I.G.B.C. Gold Certification, which is a reflection of our deep commitment to ensure that the best ethical practices are adopted at our hotels. Our design approach looks at building hotels sustainably, and is centred on reducing the carbon footprint of each hotel. Aurika, Udaipur has been built using some of the best-in-class design practices, including energy and water conservation processes, efficient waste management systems, native landscaping, usage of local materials and Hill Stabilisation technology to maintain the natural environment of the hill on which the resort is built. This recognition would go a long way to motivate us to remain steadfast in our effort to certify all our hotels, as we have been building all our owned hotels to I.G.B.C.’s Gold specifications since 2012.”

Patanjali G. Keswani, Chairman & Managing Director, Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd.
