IHCL to keep all options open for Taj Mansingh: CEO Puneet Chhatwal

Puneet Chhatwal, chief executive of Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) or the Taj Group, said the company will keep its options open for Taj Mahal Hotel, currently embroiled in a legal battle between IHCL and New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

“We will consider anything and everything and will keep all our options open as the terms (in the tender document) have been changed to include other people to our detriment and not to our benefit, which is not in keeping with the previous SC judgement,” Chhatwal had said in an interview to ETafter IHCL announced its results for FY18.

The Taj Group moved the SC on Monday against Delhi HC’s dismissal of its plea challenging the tender procedure for the Taj Mahal auction last week. The apex court posted the matter for June 1, which puts the proceedings of the auction in a spot all over again.

NDMC had decided June 19 as date of the e-auction. The chain had moved a division bench of Delhi HC against the revised tender document released by the civic body saying it failed to take into account its ‘blemish free’ record as observed by the SC.
