India-wide Release: After a triumphant Mumbai Edition, Gold Rush’s ‘World On A Plate’ is launching the second episode of Season 4 at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore on June 1st and 2nd, 2019. Popular demand has fated the return of the ‘Father of Modern Cooking’ aka the revered Chef Marco Pierre White for his South India debut at India’s largest gourmet festival, where he will curated a thematic fine-dine dinner and brunch paired with India’s best wines and cocktails, and also host 2 exclusive masterclasses, alongside the biggest and best culinary talent from across cultural borders. He will also headline WOAP’s initiative to fight hunger in India as they donate over 1,00,000 meals for underprivileged kids in association with HUG Foundation (part proceeds from each ticket sold during the festival will contribute to this noteworthy cause).
Touted to be Bangalore’s biggest edition till date, WOAP Season 4 edition 2 will also showcase over 10 Celebrity Chef Masterclasses, 22 food pop-ups by exceptional restaurants that span regional Indian & global cuisines, unique desserts showcases, an impressive cocktail program and live music to headline a memorable 2019 for every Indian foodie.
Themed around an exuberant new look aka ‘Garden of Eden’, WOAP will recreate a luxuriant paradise, spread across multiple acres of an al-fresco garden designed specifically for the festival at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore. Celebrating food in its truest and most delicious form and co-created by the masters of culinary art, exciting elements include a ‘Taste Theatre’ that will host live cooking workshops by celebrity chefs, a wine and cocktail mixology workshop by Anna Maury (Brand manager - Jacob’s Creek, Campo Viejo, Brancott Estate & GH Mumm Champagne) and the brand ambassador for Ballentines, an organic produce marketplace featuring some of India’s best entrepreneurs in farming, a fun beer corner, a unique ‘dessert market’ and one of the largest open-air cocktail bars under Bangalore’s star lit sky that will host the city’s most exciting Sunday Sundowner on June 2 with live performances by DJ Ivan and others.

World on A Plate Season 4 will also centre-stage unique tete-a-tete between Chef Marco, Manu Chandra and other Indo-global culinary stalwarts as they discuss the nuances of cooking across cultures along with an exclusive opportunity to meet and greet the godfather himself, who will also sign memorabilia for attendees.

Featuring exceptional restaurants and dessert pop-ups by the city's top restaurants, master classes by renowned master chefs, exclusive curated dinners & lunches, competitions amongst amateur and seasoned chefs, Chef Marco will also live-judge over 16 of the city’s best restaurants to award the respected ‘World on A Plate Restaurant of the Year’ trophy to the most deserving talent in India. Other award categories will be judged by some of the world's most influential culinary artists and will include ‘Popular Choice Restaurant of the Year’, ‘People’s Choice Restaurant of the Year’, ‘Britannia Amateur Pastry Chef of the Year’, ‘Wonderchef Home Chef of the Year’, ‘Food Photographer of The Year’, ‘Food Blogger of The Year’ and ‘Patisserie of the Year’.

Competing for the ‘World on a Plate Restaurant of the Year’ are Bangalore's top restaurants that include The Lantern (The Ritz-Carlton), Yataii (Shangri La), Ministry Of Food (Hilton), Layla (The Den), Caperberry, Toscano, Sanchez, The Reservoire, Nevermind Bar & Social, Aioli BBQ & Grill and Alchemy (Chancery Pavilion). The festival will also feature the city’s top patisseries such as Ganache (The Ritz-Carlton), Aubree Haute Chocolaterie, Indulge Cupcakes, Smoor and Dolci. Each participating chef has to prepare their signature dish for Chef Marco on June 1st for a stage-wide live showcase, with the top 3 winners being declared live on finale day aka June 2nd In order to make gourmet food accessible to all food lovers, these restaurants will also put up 16 unique pop-ups spanning cuisines from across the globe during the culinary weekend. Restaurants also stand to win ‘World on a Plate’s Popular Choice Restaurant of The Year award’ basis the highest dishes sold during the event.
