IndiGo delays cheap flights!!

19/02/2020

IndiGo plans to drop its idea of launching long-haul international flights on dual-aisle Airbus 330 aircraft. As of now, the airline will start flights on single-aisle Airbus 321XLR. The airline was planning to provide low fare flights to Indian passengers for London, Paris and other cities. But this service will be delayed for the next three to four years since the required airbus for the same will be available with the airline by 2023-2024.

A top IndiGo official said, “There is no precedent of low-cost carriers operating international flights on dual-aisle aircraft and have not been successful even if they have. This is primarily because fundamentals for low-cost carriers do not work on a dual-aisle aircraft. Hence, we will be launching flights to Europe and others only on an Airbus 321 XLR”.

It is further reported that the Airline will assign almost  20 aircraft with two-class configuration, for international operations. The airline has further announced order of 300 aircraft including Airbus 320, 321 and airbus 321 XLR.
