Indore Marriott Hotel brings in the winter festivities with Cake mixing and a Grape stomping ceremony

Indore, 27th November 2019: As the city gears up for the winter to set in, Indore Marriott Hotel, which is well known for its unique spirit to serve the people, planned to immerse the city in ultimate food fare with multiple live food counters. The food fare that happened on Sunday the 24th of November 2019 included Asian, Indian and continental delicacies. Indore Marriott Hotel hosted a cake mixing & grape stomping ceremony to add to the festive fervor.

Cake mixing is said to mark the arrival of the harvest season and is one of the most awaited traditional rituals at every Christian household. It also marks the onset of Christmas celebrations for hotels and cafes. The cake mix included a bunch of various nuts and fruits like plum, berries, figs, walnuts and pistachios.

Indore Marriott Hotel kick started the festivities with the Cake mixing ceremony which was then followed by a grape stomping ceremony. The hotel guests were handed over chef caps, aprons and gloves and were invited to mix all the fruits and nuts on the mixing table.

Next up was the Grape Stomping ceremony that focused on the “Pigeage”−a French winemaking term that is a traditional practice of stomping and crushing grapes with your bare feet within open fermentation barrels to release the grape’s juice. This long-honored tradition is an important aspect of the traditional winemaking process. The guests participated in the grape stomping and the “foots-on” segment of traditional winemaking or vinification, which is the overall process for making wine. Everyone loved stomping the grapes with their bare feet and the joyous smile on the faces as they feel the grapes squish between their toes was a sight to behold. The guests had a good time sharing these moments with family and friends. It was a fun-filled event which included a high energy music band performance, world class four course pre-plated set menu and live dessert art.
