MUMBAI, 8th June, 2023: Celebrate the vibrant Dragon Boat Festival at the Golden Dragon at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbaifrom the 12-22 June 2023. The highlights are the fantastic creations by our new MasterChef - Chef Yan Jun Jun; with over two-decades of culinary expertise under his belt, Chef Yan believes in using fresh ingredients and making them the hero of flavorful, well-prepared dishes. Specializing in Beijing, Szechuan, and Cantonese cuisines, Chef Yan has carefully tailored his culinary repertoire to suit the unique customs and discerning taste buds of guests.

Dive into the Festivities of the Dragon Boat Festival as you immerse yourself in the joyous atmosphere at the Golden Dragon. Originating from ancient China, this revered festival has captivated hearts worldwide with its energy and cultural significance. The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as ‘Duanwu’ Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday. The festival has a history of over 2,000 years and is celebrated in various parts of East Asia. The Dragon Boat Festival is widely celebrated in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other regions with Chinese communities. The festival serves as a way to honor Chinese culture, strengthen community bonds, and bring people together in joyful celebrations.

The menus include traditional dishes that are enjoyed during the Dragon Boat Festival especially the famous zongzi - sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves and filled with a variety of ingredients boiled or steamed to perfection. Zongzi are savory and have a rich, aromatic flavor, making them a beloved treat during the festival. Guests can also enjoy Chef Yan’s specialties like Yellow chili Shimeji and asparagus, dried chili pickled ash bean, Sweet and sour fish with Sichuan pepper oil, Beijing style chili coriander noodles and more.
