This year, on World Disability Day, ITC Grand Chola conceptualized a mission to provide enhanced opportunities for the people with disabilities – championing inclusivity and empowerment for the specially-abled community. Inclusion through empowerment & employment was stressed on the occasion by Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ms. Jayashree Muralidharan, renowned social evangelist Dr. Jayantimala Suresh, Minister for Water Resources, Mr. Duraimurugan, Chairman Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Mr. Mohanakrishnan and General Manager ITC Grand Chola, Mr. Shaariq Akhtar on Tuesday which was attended by people from different spheres of life, including those with disabilities. Former Finance Minister, D Jayakumar also graced the occasion orchestrating inclusivity and expanding the horizons of opportunities for the specially-abled.
The event with a cause entailed disabled people from various walks of life witness the lighting of the lamp, the Chief Guests addressing the gathering, the felicitation of the enabled PWD by the minister followed by many specially-abled artists performing with their inherent talents to impress the audience at ITC Grand Chola.
Over the years, ITC Grand Chola has taken great strides in making the work culture inclusive-driven and diverse by providing employment opportunities to the specially-abled across various verticals -Housekeeping, Front Office, Laundry, HR, Finance, Stores, Grand Café and F&B Service.
