ITDC along with the Gujarat Government to promote tourism

ITDC or India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd is a public sector undertaking which comes under the control of the Ministry of Tourism and Government of Gujarat. ITDC has recently signed an MoU with Gujarat Government to enhance the growth of tourism in India. As per the MoU, ITDC will be providing consultancy services for innovative lighting, illumination and light and sound shows on the important monuments of Gujarat. 

G Kamala Vardhana Rao, C&MD, ITDC, Jenu Devan, the Commissioner of Tourism and MD, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat signed the MoU in the presence of Union Minister of State for Tourism, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, senior officials from Gujarat tourism department and Ministry of Tourism. Minister of Tourism, Patel in the inaugural session said, “There is a great scope for developing tourism in Gujarat for which the state government has developed many more new focused sights to attract tourism. State Government may work in tandem with ITDC to promote and develop tourism through innovative and creative steps.”

An event was organized from 13th to 15th February 2020 at Dhordo, Kutch. The event emphasized on Destination Management and Community Participation in the tourism sector. The event had speaker sessions of officials of government and tourism industry. The event helped the officials of the industry in understanding the concepts and approach which can be taken for the upliftment of tourism in Country. They even understood the challenges faced in the implementation of such initiatives on society.
