ITDC Education division, Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (AIHTM) awarded with ISO 9001:2015 certification

The certification has been awarded for implementing and maintaining “Quality Management System” for ‘Designing and Imparting Quality Education for Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Industry’.

New Delhi: Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (AIH&TM), the Human Resource Development division under India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), has been certified with ISO 9001:2015 certification for imparting quality education in hospitality and tourism management.

ITDC set up its in-house Training Centre in the year 1971 which later developed and became ISO 9001: 2008 certified full-fledged hospitality training Institute in the year 2004 to provide professional skills and train aspirants looking forward to making a career in tourism and hospitality sector.

Besides conducting short duration customised training programs for Hotels and restaurants, AIH&TM has offered hospitality related training consultancy for Ministry of Tourism, President House, Prime Minister’s House, State Bhawans, Indian Foreign Services, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Public sector organisations and State Tourisms departments.

To ensure that various activities undertaken by the institute are standardised with latest quality policy Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (AIH&TM) has now upgraded to ISO 9001:2015 Certification.

Commenting on the certification, Mr. Piyush Tiwari, Director Commercial & Marketing, ITDC said, “ITDC stands for change and development in tourism & hospitality and assist in builing a better nation. Also, we ensure that we are parallel to the advancements in terms of quality and technology. The ISO 9001:2015 Certification confirms our capability to deliver knowledge and training in the best possible way to help build a skilled India.”

ITDC through AIHTM offers various courses including BIHBM (Bachelors in International Hospitality Business Management) affiliated to Kurukshetra University. B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (H&HA) in affiliation with NCHMCT (National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology) through Centre of Excellence (COE) set up at Hotel Samrat. One year Diploma courses in various hospitality trades in association with National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS). Trade related apprenticeship programs on behalf of RDAT (Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training) under Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt of India. ITDC is one of the major institutes in India conducting skill development programs under HSRT (Hunar se Rozgar Tak) and One Year residential training course sponsored by Ministry of DONER (Development of North Eastern Region)

schemes of Government of India. ITDC also undertakes various customised & tailor-made courses for various Central Govt departments and State Govts.
