‘Jamai Ador’ just got better with Aminia

The much-awaited Bengali festival of pampering sons-in-law has finally arrived. The day begins with mothers-in-law performing various rituals for their sons-in-law and ends with a grand feast. The ritual, which began as a homely affair with home-cooked dishes and a fruit platter, has now taken on a different tone.

Various restaurants, nowadays, go to great lengths to ensure that mothers-in-law don’t fall short of ways to perform ‘Jamai Ador’. From lip-smacking platters to refreshing beverages, the restaurants of Kolkata have their very own way of celebrating this occasion.

If your ‘jamai’ (son in law) is a Biryani lover, what better place to celebrate than in Aminia, the biryani behemoth? The iconic Mughlai diner is a space perfect for socialisation, where you can share and create memories over mouth-watering food and beverages.

Aminia’s eclectic menu for Jamai Sashti includes their classic Mughlai and North Indian delicacies such as Mutton & Chicken Biryani, Aminia Special Mutton Curry, Aminia Special Mutton Rezala, Mutton Handi, Lahori Chicken, Chicken Malai Kebab, and Firni, to name a few.

Curate a platter for your son-in-law with flavour-packed starters like Chicken Malai Kebab, Chicken Cheese Kebab, Chicken Tandoori, Mutton Galawti Kebab, Mutton Boti Kebab, and other signature starter items to set the tone.

Aminia’s Mutton or Chicken Biryani is a must-have for the main course. Known for their perfect aroma and heavenly taste, the Mutton and Chicken Biryani are made with fragrant and flavourful Basmati Chawal (rice), Kolkata fave ‘aloo’ (potatoes), tender mutton/ chicken pieces and authentic Indian masalas that give the meat a fall-off-the-bone texture.

Pair the biryani with the Aminia Special Mutton Curry, Aminia Special Mutton Rezala or Mutton Handi if your son-in-law is a mutton fan. If he prefers chicken to mutton, Lahori Chicken is a good choice. The Aminia Special Mutton Curry is one of the longest served dishes that is lightly spiced, while Mutton Handi comes in a velvety rich masala gravy. The Aminia Special Mutton Rezala comes in a yoghurt based gravy and leaves a sweet aftertaste. The traditional Pakistani dish Lahori Chicken is rich in flavour and goes perfectly with Basmati rice or your choice of Indian bread.

The classic Firni is a must-order dessert to round out the meal. The melt-in-the-mouth dessert is made with the goodness of milk, saffron, and nuts - tastes heavenly!

“Be it any occasion, we always have catered to our patrons with our signature Mughlai and Awadhi cuisines. And for Jamai Sashti, we would like to invite all the mothers-in-law to join in with their biryani lover jamais and daughters for a gastronomic experience”,
