Jashn-e-Iftar, the Mohammed Ali Road Special Festival, Returns to Jyran

The Mohammed Ali Road food festival returns to Jyran! Sofitel Mumbai BKC, the elegant, luxury hotel in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex, is welcoming guests to Jashn-e-Iftar, a special food festival at Jyran, which serves authentic cuisine inspired by the Northwest Indian Frontier Province.

Known for its award-winning Indian cuisine, Jyran will be offering both an a la carte special menu as well as a set menu for Jashn-e-Iftar, taking place from March 12-April 11, 2024, for dinner only. Specially created by Master Chef Waris Qureshi and his team, the special menu at Jyran will offer favourite dishes found at Mohammed Ali Road, recreated in the most authentic manner possible.

Guests can enjoy Aloo Badshahi, from the Mughal era Bahadur Shah Zafar, a kebab made from stuffed potatoes, flavoured with saffron and cooked in a clay oven; Shahi Gosht ki Gilawat, melt-in-the-mouth lamb patties flavoured with Chef’s secret recipe of 31 spices; Minara Masjid Chicken Cutlets, chicken mince fried patty flavoured with hand-pounded spices; Tandoori Soya Chaap, soya chaap marinated with yogurt, red chilli, flavoured with black cardamom and cooked in a clay oven; Nilofari Seekh Kebab, lotus stem flavoured with black cardamom and Indian spices, deep-fried to perfection; Mumbai Bohri Boti Tikka, lamb morsels marinated in yogurt, malt vinegar, flavoured with Potli spices and cooked in a clay oven; and Nizami Haleem, lamb chunks slowly cooked in broken wheat and mix lentil, flavoured with potli spices. The dishes are accompanied by Jyran’s famed Dal e Qureshi, black lentils cooked for 48-hours on a clay oven, flavoured with Chef Qureshi’s special spices and finished with cream; Awadhi Gosht Dum Biryani, prime cut of lamb cooked overnight, tossed in mixed spices and layered with flavoured basmati rice; and Subz Tawa Pulao, seasonal vegetables, cottage cheese and basmati rice, cooked in saffron-flavoured broth. A selection of breads and paratha is also available.
