Mumbai, Saturday, 11th May: Explore an extravagant gastronomic experience of Sichuanese cuisine at Sofitel Mumbai BKC’s All-day Dining Pondichéry Café. The French luxury hotel, in association with Fairmont Chengdu, brought in Chef Jerry Tan to curate the best of exotic flavours from the land of China, through a 10-day food festival from Friday, 10th to Sunday, 19th May 2019.
The Southwest Chinese region is known as the ‘heavenly country’ owing to its abundance of fresh food resources and traditional seasonings. It is home to ancient Chinese history that involves a wide range of ingredients, cooking techniques, and delectable hot and spicy dishes. Sichuanese cuisine is dominated by peppery, chili flavours, and best known for a liberal use of condiments like chili, garlic, cinnamon, dried orange peel, scallion and more.
Chef Jerry Tan from the capital city of the Sichuan region – Chengdu, has been specially flown down to curate authentic delicacies such as Sautéed Diced Chicken with Chili Pepper, Sweet-scented Sichuan Osmanthus Fish, Sichuan Spicy Fried Rice, Chicken Pepper MaJi, Stir-fried Meat with Sichuan Pepper, Mango Sago and more.
