For this edition, we welcomed Aanchal Malhotra, a luminary in the space of oral history, and a formidable voice in the narrative of the 1947 Partition. Hailing from New Delhi, India, Malhotra has carved her name in literature with her profound explorations of the human experience amidst historical upheaval. Her debut book, “Remnants of a Separation”, resonated deeply as it delved into the poignant tales concealed within the objects traversing the border with refugees, earning her the esteemed Council for Museum Anthropology Book Award in 2022. Following the resounding success of her inaugural work, Malhotra captivated audiences once again with “In the Language of Remembering”, a profound examination of the enduring transgenerational legacy of Partition, hailed as one of History Today’s Best Books of the Year. She graced ‘Between the Covers’ with her latest masterpiece “The Book of Everlasting Things”.
