Let’s Take The Dog Out – A 5-Star Day-Out For PAWPAL’S

31/01/2018

Don’t you feel bad when you have to go out with your friends and family for a day, and can’t take your furry friend along? Don’t you wish you could spend a fun-filled afternoon with your pet and bond over some quality time?

Last weekend, Hyatt Pune, Kalyani Nagar did something out-of-the-box and invited all the dogs and their parents to ‘Let’s Take the Dog Out’, a-one-of-a-kind afternoon of fun, food and festivities.

Dressed up in cool and super funky outfits, these furry friends turned up in style and walked the ramp as ‘Superdog’, ‘Batdog’, ‘Roadside Romeos’, a Perfect Gentleman and everything their humans wanted them to pose as.

The event was held at an open-air venue decked up with colorful balloons, hoola hoops, a special Photo booth and a delicious spread of chicken liver based snacks and Pupcakes for the dogs. The young and enthusiastic team of Chefs had an equally tempting spread of snacks, drinks and canine theme -desserts for the humans too.

The evening started with exciting activities that included games such as musical bums (musical chairs for dogs and their parents together) and treasure hunt followed by a fashion show where the dogs showed their walk, tricks and swag. The winners got fancy dog collars as prizes and everyone took home a goodie bag. Sharing his excitement on organizing this first-of-its-kind event for dogs, the General Manager, Sumit Kumar was overwhelmed to see the dogs and their parents turning up in such huge numbers. “At Hyatt Pune, it’s our constant endeavor to offer unique experiences to our guests every time, and this event is a true example of that. Being a dog lover myself, I always felt there should be a platform where our guests accompany their dogs, and this was a step towards bringing them closer to the Hyatt Pune family.”

Many of the guests who had brought their pets along with their children for the first time to an event like this said that it came as a pleasant surprise and they always wanted to experience something like this with their pets. “This event is a great way to show your furry friends you care. We always feel sad leaving behind our dog Romeo whenever we are heading out. We never thought we could treat Romeo at a 5-star hotel, so this has been one of the happiest days of our lives,” said Anisha and Kunal Jaiswal.

Seema Seth who brought her pet Slash was equally excited and said it was her first such outing with Slash. “It was a very beautifully executed event. There was so much to do for Slash and even all the parents. We not only got an opportunity to have our dog make friends but also got to connect with other dog parents and share our thoughts, which was a great take away from this event,” added Seema.

This was precisely what prompted Ankoura Verma, Marketing & Communications Hyatt Pune, to this event. “With an active and social Labrador at home, the city offers very limited options for me to take him along. I’m sure there are many such families that crave for a space to unwind with their pet and let him/her socialize with their own kind. That’s how we came up with this concept and received an overwhelming response”.

Many of the pets who attended the event were rescued dogs. Another aim of organizing this event was to make more and more canine lovers go out and adopt these bundles of joy.
