Remember... For World Earth Day, we challenged our hotels and headquarters. Their mission: to find new solutions to fight against food waste... Today, get involved and vote for your favorite initiative!
With more than 10,000 restaurants and bars around the world and 200 million meals served each year, Accor has a more important role than ever to play in the relentless fight against food waste. As part of the Green Stars challenge launched on the occasion of World Earth Day, nearly 530 initiatives were posted on the "Acting Here" application by more than 50 participating countries!
Among them, the Fairmont Nile City (Egypt) collaborates with the Egyptian Food Bank to fight hunger through diversity and innovation, and Ertiqa, which recycles organic waste to give it a new life.
The Novotel Manila Araneta Center (Philippines) offers healthy and responsible drinks and menus in its restaurants and bars. From April 21 to May 20, the establishment serves 2 organic cocktails with responsible ingredients: Papa Doble - with lemon and basil, and Spicy 6th Sling with melon, chili, orange and pineapple.
On the other hand, the ibis Milano Fiera (Italy) donates unsold breakfast products to the Auser association, which works for the inclusion of the region's elderly people. On May 1st, the hotel participated in a picnic by offering baskets, each containing an apple and 2 sandwiches prepared from breakfast leftovers, to people in need.
There are many other initiatives to discover on the Green Stars platform... What will be your favorite idea? You have until May 22nd to vote. See you in early June to discover the 3 initiatives with the most likes!
