Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management to host an Orientation Program for young aspirants

Pune, May 6, 2022: The hospitality industry is one of the largest employers of human resource in India. Number of young aspirants enrol themselves into several certificate, diploma and degree programs to make a career in this demanding yet inspiring industry. To encourage and guide the new students and help them make an informed decision about their career, Pune based Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management is hosting an orientation program at its Wagholi campus on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

Before the beginning of any academic journey students are usually excited and nervous; unsure of what the future holds. To ease these very thoughts and feelings, the Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management is hosting a program which will inform students about the curriculum pattern in various courses, career paths to success, countries to study further, job opportunities abroad and the traits and qualities required in an individual in different areas of operations, and much. The program will witness the presence of industry experts such as Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Former Senior Area Director, HR, South Asia, Marriott International; Mr. Nishanth Vishwanath, General Manager, The Ritz Carlton and Mr. Rakesh Koli, Executive Housekeeper, Courtyard Marriott, Hinjewadi. Students will get an opportunity to learn a lot from this program as the industry experts share their journey of success in the industry which will help the young aspirants to make a well-informed decision.

In today’s day and age students like to have an overall understanding of the course they will be studying, the pros and cons of the course, the roadmap to success, etc. “As educators and experts of the industry we have become more and more aware of what students want and need. It is essential to cater to their needs and provide them with the right kind of guidance and help them succeed, especially in a competitive industry like the hospitality industry. After carefully understanding how many students and how much a program like this would benefit the students of hospitality, we decided to make this happen. Students will get to witness industry experts talk on several topics- Mr. Nasir Shaikh who is going to talk about his journey as a hotelier and the challenges one needs to be ready to face to thrive in the hospitality industry, Mr. Gurmeet Singh will speak about everything that goes into being a successful hotelier, Mr. Nishant Vishwanath will talk about his journey to becoming a General Manager, the ups and down along the way, and Mr. Rakesh Koli will share the future of the housekeeping industry. Along with these keynote speakers, students will also get an insight into the hotel industry - operational areas of the hotel, qualities required to succeed in every area of the Hotel, job opportunities in the hotel industry and scope in other hospitality areas, etc. The biggest takeaway is for students and their parents to understand the industry from those who have successfully walked this path.
