Created at South Seas Distilleries, the crafters of India’s oldest single malts this collection represents a rare meeting of heritage, design and innovation. With a legacy dating way back to over a century, South Seas Distilleries has spent over almost five decades defining India’s relationship with single malt whisky. Today, as global audiences look to India for craft, flavour and cultural depth, Madhuca expressions this extraordinary cocktail - forward single malt embody the next evolution of this journey. Finished in oak casks seasoned with Mahua spirit, it presents a profile the world has never experienced before, rooted in India yet designed for the new-age drinker who values individuality over conformity.

The inspiration for the Mahura finish comes from the Mahua flower, an ancient tree revered in the Vedas and long associated with Indian communities. South Seas are the first commercial distillers of Mahua flower spirit, and the unique and versatile character of this indigenous spirit that once rested in the same cask used to shape these exotic signature and style of the Madhuca expressions The finish creates a whisky that is soft yet expressive, elevated yet effortless, designed as much for sipping as it is for contemporary cocktail culture in the most stylish bars.
The three expressions of Madhuca emerge from meticulously selected oak casks. Each reveals a different facet of Indian terroir and the creative philosophy that has quietly guided South Seas for generations. All three share a smooth, rounded structure with layers of honeyed florals, subtle spice and a distinctive Indian warmth that lingers elegantly on the palate. The result is a whisky meant not only for connoisseurs but for a new global audience discovering India as a home of avant-garde spirits.
The packaging is crafted with the same design sensibility. Inspired by the colours of the Indian flag saffron, blue and green the bottles embody a modern, minimal aesthetic. The design pays homage to the country’s heritage while reflecting the refined, international style of the modern collector.
To honour its roots, South Seas Distilleries had also unveiled a rare collector’s bottling of the world's first matured Mahua spirit. Only 102 bottles have been released, each priced at ₹102000, making it one of the most exclusive Indian spirits available today.

Madhuca: The Heritage Editions will be available at select five-star hotels, premium clubs, duty-free boutiques and leading retailers across Mumbai, Gurgaon, Bengaluru and Goa.
Madhuca I is available exclusively in duty-free, while Madhuca II is priced at approximately Rs 4,750-Rs 4,850 and Madhuca III at approximately Rs 3,590-Rs 3,680.
