London/Mumbai, November 6, 2019: Maharashtra Tourism, in partnership with Meraki Communications (CAB Experiences), displayed the diversity and legacy of the vibrant state to international tourists at the World Travel Market (WTM) 2019, the global travel exhibition that was held in London from 4th to 6th November.
Maharashtra is a melting pot of culture, heritage sites, hill stations, beaches and a promise of unlimited possibilities. The state is the hub of Bollywood and houses the financial capital of India: Mumbai. Maharashtra has always been synonymous with vibrancy, delicious local treats and energy that is second to none. Festivals in the state become a gathering filled with color, pomp and celebration. Here, it doesn’t matter where one comes from, what language one speaks or what beliefs one has. If you are here, you invariably become a part of the history. The experiences one has here will turn into memories, which will be cherished for a long time. At WTM London 2019, Maharashtra Tourism endeavored to give a glimpse of all this to the visitors.
On this occasion, Ms Vinita Vaid Singal, Secretary (Tourism), Tourism & Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Maharashtra, said, “On behalf of Government of Maharashtra, we are here to make the world aware that Maharashtra is one of the most important and probably of the best holiday destinations within India. Three things that all Europeans look at are experiential tourism, safety and security and excellent infrastructure. We have it all in Maharashtra and considering all these factors, we are here to remind the world that we are one of the best holiday destinations around the world. We can curate all kinds of experiential travel including forts, landscape, spiritual and nature and wildlife trail. We have a beautiful weather which lasts for nine months and monsoon is the best period for adventure tourism, trekking, cultural travel, rural experiences and seeing the best of Maharashtra.”
She further added, “Maharashtra specializes in celebrating each and every festival across religions, thereby providing an opportunity to enjoy a lot of cultural festivals. Apart from these experiences, Maharashtra also offers educational and medical tourism. So right from the sea to the sky, the state offers everything to the travelers.”
RARE India (on behalf of Meraki Communications) was entrusted with the responsibility of managing the Maharashtra Tourism Stall at WTM 2019. RARE India’s Founder Ms Shoba Mohan and Ms Sejal Gopujkar, who heads the UK Office of RARE India, met the visitors and updated them about the unique tourism experiences available in Maharashtra.
