And to bring you closer to the austere flavors inherent in Marathi cuisine, Zambar is hosting a 13 day festival ‘Marathwada Mejwani’, from March 05-17, 2019 at its outlet in Ambience Mall, Gurugram.

The special Marathwada feast will be offering a range of culinary treasures of Maharashtra handcrafted by Home Chef Sunita Rajendra Sanglikar. Chef’s home style cooking infused with the fresh energy and traditional flavors of local cuisine will take you on a phenomenal gastronomical journey that you will savor forever.

One can start their culinary journey at the food festival with scrumptious starters like Sabudana wada, Fish fry and Hurda bhel which is tender sorghum millet bhel. Relish three types of curries like Pithla Bhakhri, Patal Bhaji and Kombdi Wada, all known for its deep and robust flavors. Bharli Wangi having baby graffiti eggplants stuffed with the spicy mixture of sesame, dry coconut & groundnuts is an exciting play of desi masalas. Move over pancakes and make way for Thalipeeth Makhann which is a pancake hailing from the western part of the country. It is made of a special flour of roasted sabudana (tapioca), coriander seeds, wheat, rice and cumin seeds.

The special menu also offers a repertoire of delicacies like Missal Pao and Assal Marathi Wada Pao.Breads carry a lot of significance in staple Maharashtrian diet and one can enjoyvadaspavspolis served in combination with bhajjismissalussal or ragda. End your meal on a sweet note with Kesar Ilaichi Srikhand served with hot pooris and Ukadiche Modak.

Chef Sunita Rajendra Sanglikar

Chef Sunita Rajendra Sanglikar, who owns a buzzing catering business started her journey in the year 1999. Deeply inspired by her grandmother, Chef Sunita began cooking from the age of 14. Apart from specializing in Marathi dishes, she can also prepare South Indian and Punjabi cuisine. The main spices used by her are Garam Masala, Goda Masala, Ambari Chatpat Masala and homemade masalas.  Chef Sunita is an expert in making Puran Poli, Katachi Amat and Thalipeeth.
