28th January, Pune: Team Fairfield by Marriott Pune Kharadi visited Shivganga - a home away from home for the elderly on Friday. The second innings home is located in Wanowrie area of Pune. The team met approximately 15 old aged women and the crew of expert caretakers. Keeping ‘love all, serves all’ as the highlight of the day, the meal for the day was taken care of by the hotel.
Hotel’s team spent the afternoon by interacting with the residents, hearing stories of their lives. During the conversation each and every person of the old age home shared how grateful they were to life and its being. The team of the hotel served not just food but also themselves also by lending ears to the stories tucked in the corners of their hearts. The initiative behind this was to spread joy serving love and food to all.
General Manager Parvez Nisar quoted, “I was moved by looking at the conditions of these people and it made me realize that we must not over think about our future events because we don’t know what our future holds in store for us. After spending time with them, it made me feel love is beyond all verbal barriers. We always have a love for our near and dear ones, but I discovered a strange love with an unknown person. Also, we noticed that these people were on a diet which was as per their age; however they drank normal borewell water. It pinched us.”
Fairfield by Marriott Pune Kharadi, in its consistent endeavor to ensure support to Shiv Ganga Old age Home has decided to donate a water purifier for the organization.
“We strive to provide holistic home-like services to our residents. Right from taking care of their spiritual needs, to physical well-being, to catering to their unique medical and dietary requirements. We aim to make every individual independent and strong to lead a happy life. No residents are given regular medical treatments as we believe that nobody should be bothered in the second inning of their lives for which we practice natural healing and hygiene”, said Ganga Patil.
