Mirchi and Mime’s distinctive design is created by interior designer Misbah Kapadia of Design Konstruct. Located in Thane, this trendy restaurant serves modern-Indian cuisine. Notably, it is exclusively staffed by speech and hearing-impaired service personnel, making it an exceptional and inclusive dining experience.
At the heart of this restaurant is a captivating bar counter that exudes a vintage ambiance, artfully blending wood and metal elements. An eye-catching feature is the suspended hanging element, giving depth to the space. Metal sheet cutouts documenting the history of alcohol further enhance the space giving it a personal touch. The counter is adorned with vintage cane in metal wheels, adding an authentic and vintage flair.
To break the visual monotony, textured patterns adorn the walls, while a vertical rack near the parade entrance showcases vintage vessels, plants, and hanging spoons, captivating the public's interest. Mouldings on the facade glass create a sense of flow and movement with elegant arches.
The highlight of the restaurant is the exposed copper tandoor apron, a challenging yet expertly executed design element. Terracotta tiles cover the remaining portion, and the top is finished with a metal structure frame covered in green beveled glass.
Behind the sofa, the wall gains significance with vintage-look papers fired to resemble Indian reckon papers, preserving a vintage font. An exceptional 3D arch on the wall captures hand gestures of sign language. The bar area features partially amended flooring, while the private dining area showcases printed tiles for a fresh look.
Outdoors, a larger-than-life fiber rolling pin, textured and painted, stands as an artistic element. The glass facade is complemented by a screen adorned with hanging rolling pins suspended from tension wires. The outdoor seating area also extends, using cast iron railings as planters, and features shaded seating with unique umbrellas adorned with the brand's logo.
