Mizu Izakaya, the celebrated Japanese culinary hotspot from Mumbai, makes its way to Bengaluru with an exclusive pop-up event at Zen, pan-Asian speciality, The Leela Palace on March 1st and 2nd. The Leela Palace Bengaluru is hosting a series of pop ups this year from globally acclaimed award-winning restaurants. This pop up is an example of the diverse culinary journeys guests can choose from.
Founded by childhood friends Vedant Malik and Chef Lakhan Jethani, Mizu Izakaya promises an unforgettable dining experience, seamlessly blending traditional Japanese flavours with innovative techniques.
At the heart of Mizu Izakaya's philosophy lies a deep reverence for ingredients and meticulous craftsmanship. Chef Jethani's vision extends beyond traditional boundaries, as he showcases seasonal Indian ingredients sourced from across the country, enriching classic Japanese dishes with a touch of local flair. With a belief in the transformative power of food to elevate one's energy, Mizu Izakaya brings a unique fusion of cultures to the table.
Guests at the pop-up event will be treated to a specially curated 8 course omakase menu featuring an array of delectable dishes. Highlights include the Toro Taru Taru, a delicate blend of flavours and textures, and the Wakame Salad, a refreshing cold salad showcasing the unique taste and texture of seaweed. The Japanese Flatbread offers a fusion of flavours, while the New Style Big Sam's Salmon Sashimi promises a decadent indulgence; Peas and Shiitake Gyoza offer delightful bursts of flavour; the Mizu Shumai presents a harmonious combination of seafood goodness in every bite. Sushi aficionados can indulge in Mizu Izakaya's exquisite Nigiri selection, featuring Enoki on Enoki Nigiri and Hamachi and Salmon Foie Gras Nigiri.
To conclude the dining experience, guests can savour the Japanese Milk Tea Parfait, a multi-layered dessert masterpiece that combines traditional elements such as dango and warabi mochi with modern twists like boba pearls and chestnut paste.
