The very first of the week, Mondays are considered as the holiest day in this month and it is called “Saawan Somvar”, according to Hindu Mythology. KEDARNATH
Kedarnath is situated in the lapse of Great Himalayas. This temple is purely dedicated to Lord Shiva. Kedarnath is a place located in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is one of the most important Shiva Temples in India, situated at the height of 3583 meters above sea level.
Due to very extreme in Kedarnath, the holy temple is only open between the months of April and November for the general public. The historical name of this region is “Lord of Kedar Khand”. It is also among the Char Dham Yatra, according to Hindu Mythology.
MAHAKALESHWAR
Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is a Hindu temple, which is purely dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, shrines are said to be the most sacred and pure abodes of Lord Shiva. It located in the ancient city of Ujjain in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
The temple also has the inscriptions carved of Omkaresvara and Nagchandresvara, images of Ganesha, Parvati and Kartikeya. The whole temple is spread over five levels and it is an important pilgrim center for Hindus. The ‘Bhasma-Aarti’ of this temple is a ritual ceremony that you definitely should not miss.
KASHI VISHWANATH
Kashi Vishwanath Temple is synonymous to Lord Shiva, one of the most popular Hindu temples which are purely dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in Varanasi in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The holy temple is located on the western bank of the holy river Ganga and it is also one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. It is also considered as the holiest of Shiva temples.
LINGARAJ TEMPLE
Lingaraj Temple is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar, capital of the Indian state of Odisha. This temple is purely dedicated to Lord Shiva, the most prominent landmark of the city. The height of this temple is 55 meters and the architectural style of Lingaraj Temple is Kalinga architectural style.
BHIMASHANKAR
Bhimashankar temple is located in Pune, in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The temple sits close to the originating point of river Bhima and it is built in Nagara architectural style. It is also the one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Numerous devotees from all over the country visit here, to offer their respect and prayers to Lord Shiva.
TRIMBAKESHWAR
The Trimbakeshwar temple is counted as one of the holiest temples in the country, located in the city of Trimbak, district Nashik in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is also one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, perched on the foot of Brahmagiri Hills. The temple was built in the 18th century by Maratha ruler, Peshwa Nana Saheb, son of Bajirao Bhallad. The holy river Godavari (also known as Western Ganga) originates near Trimbak.
