Bengaluru, India – February 2026: Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Rajajinagar announces the appointment of Sumit Gunturkar as the General Manager, effective February 2026.

A seasoned hospitality professional with over 17 years of experience across business hotels, resorts, and upscale dining environments, Sumit brings deep operational expertise and a people-centric leadership approach to his new role. He is recognized for building high-performing teams, driving operational excellence, and delivering memorable guest experiences aligned with Marriott’s core values.

Sumit began his journey with Marriott in 2009 and has since held several progressive leadership roles across India. Prior to this appointment, he served as Hotel Manager in Fairfield by Marriott Goa Anjuna, where he played a pivotal role in strengthening operational performance, enhancing guest satisfaction metrics, and leading cross-functional teams in a competitive leisure market.

Earlier, he served in key leadership roles as Operations Manager and within the Food & Beverage division, where he drove operational efficiency, strengthened service delivery, and enhanced overall departmental performance. Over the years, he has developed a reputation as a collaborative leader with strengths in pre-opening support, training, and team building.

An alumnus of the University of Pune, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, he combines academic grounding with extensive on-ground experience.

In his new role at Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Rajajinagar, Sumit will focus on strengthening the hotel’s positioning as a preferred destination for business and leisure travelers, enhancing operational efficiencies, and fostering a culture where associates thrive and deliver consistent, high-quality service.

Outside of work, he is a geo-insight enthusiast and an explorer with a keen interest in understanding evolving people trends and experiences. He also loves spending quality time with family and friends.
