Ahmedabad, 11 June, 2025: ITC Narmada, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Ahmedabad, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef Varun Chakravorty as Sous Chef. Known for his refined command of Chinese culinary traditions, Chef Varun is a respected name in India’s fine dining circles.

A graduate of IHM Chennai, he is an alumnus of the esteemed Kitchen Management Training Program at the ITC Hospitality Management Institute, an institution recognised for developing future leaders in the hospitality industry.

He began his professional journey at ITC Maratha’s acclaimed Pan Asian restaurant in Mumbai, where he understood the nuanced flavours of East and Southeast Asia and also mastered the diverse culinary techniques from the region. He was also instrumental in the launch of Yi Jing at the property where helped curate a menu that blends modern sensibilities with classic Chinese elegance.

Chef Varun has trained extensively under the mentorship of Chef Liang Xiao Qing, one of India’s most celebrated Chinese Master Chefs. Through this mentorship, he has honed his skills in traditional wok cooking and regional specialities, with a particular focus on the precise and heritage-rich art of Peking Duck.

Known for his fine balance between authenticity and innovation in pan Asian and Chinese Cooking, Chef Varun brings both technical mastery and creative vision to his new role. His arrival adds to ITC Narmada’s diverse culinary team and further enhances the hotel’s commitment to offering thoughtfully crafted and regionally inspired dining experiences, whipping up a seamless mix of innovation rooted in traditional flavours.
