Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kumar Chinnasamy as its new Director of Engineering.
With over a decade of experience in hotel engineering and technical operations, Mr. Chinnasamy brings with him strong expertise in preventive maintenance, energy management, sustainability initiatives, and large-scale infrastructure operations within luxury and upscale hospitality environments. Known for his hands-on leadership style, he has successfully managed complex engineering functions while ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and guest comfort. In the past, he has held key engineering leadership roles with leading hospitality brands including Accor Hotels and the Indian Hotels Company Limited (Taj Group), contributing to the smooth operations of large-format hotels and complex hospitality assets.
In his new role at Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre, Mr. Chinnasamy will be responsible for overseeing the entire engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel and the Hyderabad International Convention Centre. His focus will include strengthening asset management, driving energy optimisation, enhancing sustainability practices, and supporting the property’s long-term operational excellence.

Mr. Chinnasamy’s appointment reinforces NHCC’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainable hospitality, as the property continues to set benchmarks in the MICE and luxury hospitality space in Hyderabad.
As part of its commitment to sustainable operations, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre and the Hyderabad International Convention Centre have taken a significant step by installing a state-of-the-art solar energy system spanning 1,818 panels with a capacity of 1000 KWp, generating approximately 1.46 million units annually and meeting nearly 50 % of HICC’s energy requirements. This renewable energy implementation is projected to reduce CO₂ emissions by over 1,000 tons per year and underscores NHCC’s leadership in integrating eco-friendly solutions into its operations, reinforcing the property’s position as a benchmark for responsible hospitality in the region.
