Frédéric takes over from Gregory Coquet, who has decided to embark on a new professional journey after a tenure marked by strategic vision, operational excellence, and a commitment to delivering world-class hospitality.

With more than 15 years of leadership experience in luxury hospitality and tourism across the Indian Ocean region, Frédéric brings an in-depth understanding of Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius and a track record of transformational leadership. As a born and bred Mauritian, his knowledge of the destination and local culture is beyond compare, which brings great benefits both to his team and to guests looking for an authentic Mauritian experience. Frédéric is a true Shangri-La success story and having joined the resort in 2018, he has held key strategic roles, including Director of Sales & Marketing, Executive Assistant Manager, and most recently, Director of Operations. His exceptional growth and team leadership, demonstrates the value Shangri-La places in their employees, the importance of colleague retention and championing team development within the group.
During his tenure, Frédéric has been instrumental in shaping the resort’s evolution by:
· Successfully driving the resort’s renovation and relaunch, ensuring a seamless transition while enhancing the guest experience.
· Introducing innovative F&B experiences, setting new standards in luxury dining.
· Elevating guest satisfaction, with OSE scores rising from 89 to 92 within a year.
· Spearheading the award-winning Family Experience Programme, which earned the prestigious Best Family Programme CPT Award within the Shangri-La Group.
· Enhancing the resort’s culinary reputation, with the overall dining rating climbing from 90 to 95.7.
His expertise in operations, sales, marketing, and guest experience strategy makes him ideally positioned to lead Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius into its next phase of excellence at a particularly exciting time for the resort following a full renovation.
