- Multi-faceted wellness specialist from America joins Vietnam resort team
DA NANG, Vietnam (Aug. 19, 2025)– Equally at home leading a yoga class or a business conference, Alyson Simms, TIA Wellness Resort’s newest wellness team member, blends the spiritual with the strategic in her new role as Executive Assistant Manager - Wellness.
As Vietnam’s award-winning wellness resort continues to evolve, Alyson has been brought on board to expand and enrich the property’s wellbeing offerings and support resort management through her mindful leadership - guiding and assisting all departments while sharing her wellness expertise with the entire team.
“At TIA, our wellness approach is guided by the core pillars of Nourish, Breathe, Flow, and Create,” explained Alyson. “We’re continuing to build on these foundations by developing new programs and private retreats that support deeper personal transformation. Our aim is to empower each individual to discover their own path, gain tools for mindful living, and carry their wellness journey home with confidence and clarity.”
The Texan knows a few things about wellness journeys, having worked in the industry for over two decades. Her varied path has led her to 50 different countries, where her grounding in mindfulness and her innate curiosity have resulted in a deep understanding of different cultures.
Her first taste of mindful living was through yoga. Even though she trained as a yoga teacher, she quickly applied her business acumen to studio management, running YogaYoga in Austin, Texas from 2006–2009. Under her leadership, the studio expanded operations from three to five locations, and she was responsible for more than 200 teachers. She later took on her first wellness specialist role in the travel sector, creating immersive wellness experiences for Miraval Austin Wellness Resort & Spa from 2019 to 2023.
During this time, Alyson pursued other passions, launching her own e-commerce business with a strong ethical foundation. Alyson ran Atma’s Offerings, where she sold mala beads and other wellness tools created by artisans from communities she cared about, from 2011 to 2024. This led her to create wellness retreats and host them in locations around the world. Her interest in mala beads - a string of beads used in meditation or prayer—led her to authorThe Magic of Malas, which was published in 2019 and is available on all major online book retailers.
After selling her business in 2023, Alyson launched her own consulting firm,Checking In with Alyson, where she guided businesses and individuals in the fields of wellness, travel, and entrepreneurship. Her love of combining international markets, teaching, and wellness is what led her to her current role with TIA Wellness Resort, where she is already applying her wealth of experience. She aims to elevate the wellness programming by introducing a wider variety of thoughtfully curated, personalized classes that incorporate the latest innovations and techniques in the industry.
“We will soon be launching a range of new therapies exclusively for our retreat-inclusive guests, including advanced high-tech facial treatments, enhanced traditional therapies, and unique, one-of-a-kind multisensory experiences,” said Alyson. “Alongside these, new offerings will also be introduced for our wellness-inclusive guests, expanding access to energy healing and introducing additional bodywork treatments. More details will be shared closer to the official release.”
Situated along the picturesque coastline of Da Nang, TIA Wellness Resort was created in response to a need for true, all-encompassing wellness—rather than just relaxation—out of a resort stay. TIA embraces a total wellness approach, from creating personalized retreat programs to wellness-inclusive stays with spa treatments included as part of the nightly rate.
