February is celebrated as Vegan Cuisine Month and at Olive Bar & Kitchen, Bandra, Executive Chef Viraf Patel has created a brand-new vegan menu that will appeal to not only plant-based and vegan diners, but also interestingly to non-vegetarian guests, with its range of unique flavour profiles, hearty textures and satiating ingredient pairings.
Diners can begin their meal by picking from a range of appetizers such as Lentil Pancakes served with roasted pepper salsa and sharp mustard dressing; Miso Glazed Eggplant ‘Scallops’, puffed Assamese black rice, Sichuan peppercorn and a house-made tomato sauce; or Soba Noodle Salad, buckwheat soba noodles, marinated tofu and mushrooms on a bed of leafy greens garnished with sesame seeds and sesame oil.
Main courses offer dishes like ‘Creamy’ Garlicky Pasta, penne in a creamy almond and garlic sauce generously topped with vegan parmesan cheese; or the Assamese Bora Sol ‘Risotto’, with mushrooms and tomatoes. Other options include Roasted Little Veggies in roasted red bell pepper and almond sauce; Mushroom-Walnut Burger served on a bun dressed in lettuce, tomato, onion and Russian dressing accompanied with root vegetable fries; and Crispy Tofu Steak served with a side of asparagus, caramelized onions and vegan jus.
What’s more, the vegan menu also includes delicious desserts like Agave & Cashew Creme, with fresh figs, dark chocolate garnished with coconut shreds; or the classic Chocolate Chip Cookie served with an almond milk ice cream.
Each dish is designed to be well-balanced, both in flavour and in the ingredients used, with many offering easy alternatives to non-vegetarian sources of protein, like lentils, sesame seeds, buckwheat, nuts, and more.
The Vegan Cuisine Month special menu at Olive Bar & Kitchen, Bandra will be served from February 1 to February 29, 2020, during dinner service.
