Olive Bar & Kitchen, Bandra Launches a New Menu

Olive Bar & Kitchen, Bandra has launched a brand-new menu. The restaurant, which has always served dishes inspired by the extensive travels of the owners or chefs, is this time around serving up dishes influenced by Chef Chirag’s recent visits to Turkey and the Middle East.

Many of the dishes on the menu pay homage to lesser-known culinary creations and those with captivating back stories, that make the dining experience even more memorable. The Soups & Salads section offer a new addition in the form of the Burrata, puff pastry, cherry tomato, pesto and toasted tomato butter; Small Plates offer picks like Turkish Manti, forest mushrooms, garlic yogurt, chili oil, pickled jalapenos, roasted tomato sofrito; Cacio e Pepe Pave, a fun combination of  thinly-sliced potatoes, layered and pressed together in a cacio e pepe sauce, deep fried and served with lots of Parmesan cheese; and Chicken Adobo, made with creamy corn custard and parmesan salsa. Large Plates feature Imambayildi, pomegranate molasses, saffron cous cous, roasted pepper Tahini, almond crumble and Turkish apricots, a dish named such because as legend goes, an Imam fainted in delight after trying the dish for the first time. Other picks include Brick Chicken, sweet potato mash, summer squash and jus – this dish is named after an ancient technique used by Roman soldiers to cook the chicken with a crispy exterior – and Zucchini Roulade, ricotta, chipotle hummus, pickled onions and mushroom croquette.

Those who enjoy Pasta can pick new options like Wild Mushroom Pappardelle, house-made pappardelle, forest mushrooms, mushroom mousse; Butternut Squash Risotto, roasted squash, mascarpone, edamame; and Rigatoni with Braised Chorizo, pearl onions, Spanish chorizo and tomato ragu, bacon and roasted peppers.

For Dessert, a series of new offerings include Kataif French Toast, which combines Chef’s love for a good kunafa and French toast. House-made challah bread is served with tahina, mascarpone, and vanilla ice cream. The Tahina Crème Brulee is another new choice, with sesame praline, dried rose and pistachio biscotti.
