Percept ICE, the Special Projects, Events and Experiential Marketing Domain Company of Percept Limited, bagged the esteemed mandate of conceptualizing and producing the ‘GQ Men Of the Year 2019’ gala event on-ground at the JW Marriott Hotel in Juhu, Mumbai on 28 September 2019. The much awaited exclusive event was attended by over 300 privileged guests spanning top celebrities and luminaries from the entertainment, media, fashion and corporate sectors.
The ‘GQ Men Of the Year’ event is one of the most awaited and glamorous events on the annual social calendar that aims to honor both men and women who have shaped India's cultural landscape across the domains of sport, style, entertainment and environment. The biggest names from the Indian film and fashion fraternity came together for the 11th edition of GQ Men of the Year 2019 awards, including Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Shahid Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Manushi Chhillar, Radhika Madan, Sobhita Dhulipala, Diana Penty, Gaurav Gupta, Kalki Koachlin, Angad Bedi, Raja Kumari, Aparshakti Khurrana and Anand Ahuja.
Percept ICE’s scope of work includedend-to-end event designing, production, management and execution of the entire GQ Men of the Year awards show for 2019. The theme for this year's GQ Men of the Year awards was ‘Aqua’, with an aim towards urging everyone to pay heed to our dying water bodies and draw greater focus to the urgency of the global climate change crisis.
Taking inspiration from the swell of the ocean waves and other elements of water, Percept ICE created a unique set design which served as a stunning backdrop and served as a key visual highlight of the evening. The sharp and edgy larger than life GQ brand logo installation at the entrance to the venue was captured beautifully across all media snapshots. The entire venue was aglow in hues of luminous blue, further recreating the aura and magic of the Aqua wave element.
Hosted by the incredibly hilarious world renowned Canada based comedian Russell Peters along with a scintillating piano performance by the talented Lydian Nadhaswaram, the GQ Men of the Years night saw some of the most influential Indians winning awards, including actor Shahid Kapoor who took home the ‘Ultimate GQ Man’ award, while environmentalist Afroz Shah was presented with the Eco Warrior award for his efforts at cleaning the Mumbai beaches. Krithi Karanth won the Environmental Hero award while Nayantara Jain and Prahlad Kakkar were bestowed with the Ecology Champions award. Other award categories saw Ayushmann Khurrana receive Actor of the Year, Sara Ali Khan win Breakthrough Talent, Hrithik Roshan receive the Game Changer Of The Year award, Katrina Kaif walk away with the Rule Breaker Of The Year award, Anand Ahuja receive the Most Stylish Man award, and the inimitable Gurinder Chadha receive the Director Of The Year title. The Young Indian Of The Year award was bestowed on Lydian Nadhaswaram, while Pankaj Advani won the prestigious Sportsman Of The Year.
