Pink City of India gets UNESCO World Heritage tag….

Jaipur, the pink city of India and also known as the walled city which is known worldwide for its iconic architectural legacy and vibrant culture, on 6th July 2019 made its entry into the World Heritage Site List of UNESCO. “Just Inscribed as @UNESCO #Worldheritage site: Jaipur City in Rajasthan, #India. Bravo,” UNESCO tweeted. This announcement was made after the 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee (WHC) in Baku, Azerbaijan from June 30 to July 10.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his happiness that the city of Jaipur has been recognized as a World Heritage Site. He also tweeted: “Jaipur is a city associated with culture and valour. Jaipur’s hospitality draws people from all over. Glad that this city has been inscribed as a World Heritage Site by @UNESCO,” The city of Jaipur was founded in 1727 AD under the patronage of Sawai Jai Singh 2 and it serves as the capital city of the culturally rich state of Rajasthan.
